North Canberra Untouchables Futsal Club (NCU) is a non-for profit, nationally accredited club. NCU is based in North Canberra and is open to both males and females who wish to participate in one of the fastest growing sports in the world, futsal.
NCU works to promote and display good sportsmanship, mutual respect and ethical behaviour within all of its members. Originally founded in 2003 with formal establishment in 2013, NCU has grown considerably and currently fields men’s and women’s teams in every division of the Canberra futsal competitions, the only club in Canberra to do so.
The club’s vision is to build upon their success in the local leagues and become the premier futsal club in Australia. They wish to not only attract and develop the best athletes, but also players of all levels, community members, coaches, support staff and stakeholders who can join in their pursuit of achieving their vision; ultimately being crowned champions of the men’s and women’s F-League competition.
In addition to their F-League objectives, they are continually working to develop the game of futsal at the community level. Over the past few decades the pathway for aspiring futsal players has been broken and inconsistent in Canberra. The club seeks to establish and implement an effective and efficient pathway from junior divisions into the senior competition and eventually the national stage of the F-League; developing the next batch of national representative players (Futsalroo’s). To assist with developing this pathway, the club has established a working affiliation with the North Canberra Futsal Club, one of the largest junior clubs in Australia. NCU looks forward to building on this relationship and establishing themselves as Australia’s premier futsal club.
